Tina Spurlock has been teaching for 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theatre Arts and English. She also has an Administrative credential in Education. She currently teaches at El Capitan High School and is an adjunct professor of English at Merced College in Merced, Ca.
Ms. Spurlock is also a Fulbright Scholar who has co-created several international exchange programs. She has traveled, studied, and taught in the Netherlands and annually host Dutch students. She travels with American students to many international locations. She and her students have traveled to Prague, Barcelona, Brussels, Amsterdam, London, Portugal, Paris, and Wales. She has been a teacher consultant for the UC Merced/National Writing Project since 2008. In her 20-year teaching career, she has taught drama, art, ELD, Film and Composition, and AP Language and Composition. She also served as artist-in-residence at the Lobero Theatre Summer Arts Program in Santa Barbara, Ca. She has worked with and guided new teachers for most of her career. She has conducted Arts in Education workshops with Stanislaus County Office of Education under the tutelage of Dr. Gail Mardirosian.
